Wild Blackberry & Huckleberry Cobbler

Wild Blackberry & Huckleberry Cobbler

Cobbler is one of the easiest desserts you can make! My recipe comes from my mom, and even through 50 years of kitchen work, she still uses this recipe with any combination of fruit. Whether blackberries alone, or peaches, apples, huckleberries etc. You will not go wrong!

Ingredients:

4 cups fruit (Any combination)

1 cup flour

1.5 cups sugar

1 Stick butter

1 half lemon

Directions:

  1. Place all 4 cups of fruit in your choice of any pan or cast iron skillet.
  2. Take the lemon and squeeze the juice over the fruit. Trick-Place cheese cloth around lemon to avoid seeds coming out.
  3. Combine 1 cup of flour and 1 cup of sugar and melted stick of butter to make the crumble, or the crust. Crumble it over the fruit, it is a rough crust and is more rustic chic than pie crusts with braids etc. Remember to keep half a cup of sugar for the end.
  4. Bake ingredients at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven, sprinkle half cup of sugar over top to give a crispy finish. To elevate your game, get fancy and use demerara sugar. People will notice!
